The Artist
Dan Leamons is a lifetime resident of Arkansas living in the small town of Gurdon. As a child, he always loved to draw people, places and things – both real and imaginary. As an adult, art got put on a back burner as college, career, and family took priority. In 2007, Dan rediscovered his love for art, and began drawing again, and eventually experimented with painting in Acrylics, and has been hooked ever since. Since that time, he has shown in several exhibitions, and has works in private collections in several states and Canada. A deep love for all art has led him to experiment with other mediums, including his most recent interest in Oil painting.
Utilizing a background in Computer Information Systems, Dan maintains this website – http://www.danleamons.com – with an online gallery of many of his original paintings, as well as a calendar of upcoming shows and exhibits. When work and website maintenance allow free time, Dan can be found in his studio at his house surrounded by family and pets. Several cats and a dachsund provide many distractions during long afternoons painting at the easel. For Dan, subject matter covers many categories – simple still life settings, beautiful sunsets, local wildlife, florals, and cherished portraits. After all, its not just about what you SEE in a painting, its also about what you FEEL in a painting!
