Guatemala Mission Trip
Exciting news! Beech Street Baptist Church in Gurdon is planning our next trip to Guatemala! We will be going in July 2012 to work with IMB Missionaries Larry and Sarah Plyler. We spent last years trip doing a medical clinic, VBS, and going door to door meeting the wonderful people and showing them how much Jesus loves them, by showing how much WE love them. We will be returning to Monte de Olivos again this year for medical clinic, VBS, and Operation GO (Gospel Outreach).
During Last years trip, a dear friend of mine took a photo of a beautiful family outside their home as they talked. Being an artist, I am always on the lookout for interesting people and places. The natural beauty of one Abuelita (Grandmother) and her grand-daughter captured my heart, and I just HAD to paint their portrait.
“Abuelita” (18×24 Oil painting on Canvas) is available on eBay! All proceeds will go directly to a wonderful little church in Monte de Olivos, Guatemala to help with building repairs. Click HERE to see and bid on “Abuelita”
During our 2010 trip, Sarah Plyler gave me a copy of a Spanish language gospel tract that featured the artwork of another artist who had been to Guatemala on a mission trip like ours. Sarah asked me if I would like to create a tract with artwork based on some of the photo’s we were taking of the beautiful Guatemalan people and countryside.
After sifting through our hundreds of photos, I was really captured by one image. Pastor Appolinario was holding his beautiful grand daughter, and his smile was as wide as could be. I created an oil painting based on that touching image, digitized it, and created a Spanish language Gospel presentation. You can download it by clicking the picture below. The tract is absolutely free – please download, print, cut, and fold and distribute anywhere the spirit leads!
In addition to the gospel tract, I wanted to have something to share with the children when we do VBS in Guatemala next year. I have started a series of coloring sheets that are free to download and distribute. Please feel free to print them out and use them in your church, your local VBS, or as part of a mission trip. Just click the image below to download!
UPDATE! 4 new pages – prayer, a butterfly, a fish, and an ice cream cone! Now there are 10 original images free for you to print and use! Have fun coloring, and God Bless You!
